About Airports Authority of India (AAI)
The Airports Authority of India, which also known as AAI, plays a major role in running the country’s air travel smoothly. It was formed in the year 1995 after combining two older bodies that handled domestic and international airports separately. Since then, it’s been responsible for managing more than 100 airports across India, including both big and small airport. But AAI doesn’t just deal with what passengers aeroplane it also handles air traffic control, radar systems, and other behind-the-scenes stuff that ensures planes take off and land safely to the airport. AAI has also been a key player in expanding flight services to smaller cities and towns through the government’s UDAN scheme, which aims to make air travel cheap, affordable and accessible for poor people. Because of this, several lesser-known airports have been upgraded and are now operating flights very regularly. They’ve also worked with ISRO to set up a satellite-based system called GAGAN, which helps and improve flight navigation and safety. On top of that, AAI trains airport staff and air traffic controllers so that they’re up to the speed with the latest practices. While travelers may not think about it, AAI’s work ing has a huge impact on how efficiently and safely people can travel by air in India. This organizations is working continuously in the background to make sure that the system keeps on running smoothly. Whether it’s upgrading terminals or improving the runway safety, their role is to keep growing as more people are taking the skies every year.
